Choosing a design and publishing your website
Pick one of twenty designs, add updates and questions for guests, then publish when you are ready to share.
Your wedding website is the page guests open before they log in. Names, the date and a way to reply live there. News, questions and the rest of the detail sit behind their account, so the first page stays calm.
Open Website in the menu. The section is headed Your website.
Choose a design
On Website design, pick a look under Look. There are twenty designs. Each one shows its name under the picture.
You can then set:
- Headline
- Show on page: Wedding date, Venue name and Full address
- Colours, Font and a Cover photo (Upload, Change or Remove)
Choose Save when the page looks right. Names and dates come from Wedding dates under Plan, so change them there if the date on the site is wrong.
Publish when you're ready
Until you publish, only you can preview the site. The bar at the top of Website design shows your address, ending in wedded.me. For example, yournames.wedded.me.
- Choose Copy when you want the address for an invitation.
- Preview opens the site while it is still private. After you publish, that link reads View site.
- Tick Published when guests should be able to open it. The note underneath says the site is private until you do.
- Untick Published if you need to hide it again. You'll be asked to confirm. Guests then see a coming soon page instead.
Publishing is also the moment we ask you to protect guest details with an authenticator, if you haven't already. You can choose Not yet and keep the site private. See Your account and keeping guest details safe.
Share the address together with an invitation code. The address on its own does not let someone reply.
Guest updates
Open Guest updates. These are messages guests see after they log in, such as travel or a change of time. They are not an email, and they are not on the public first page.
- Choose Add update.
- Start from an example, or Write from scratch.
- Add a Title, an optional Short summary, and the Full message.
- Tick Published (visible to guests after they log in) when it should appear. Leave it unticked to keep a draft only you can see.
- Choose Save.
A row shows Published or Draft. Remove update deletes one you no longer want.
Guest questions & answers
Open Guest questions & answers. Guests read these after they log in. A new wedding starts with one example, What should I wear? Edit it, or remove it if it doesn't fit.
- Choose Add question, or the row Add a question.
- Write the Question and the Answer the way you'd reply to a friend.
- Choose Save.
Remove question deletes one. You'll be asked to confirm with Remove this question? Add as many of your own as you like. For something that will change soon, a guest update is often clearer than a question you then forget to edit.
What to do next
Copy the address from Website design, then check or change it if the suggestion isn't the one you want on the invitations.
