Building your guest list
Add names, share invitation codes, group people with tags, and invite your partner to help.
Adding someone to your guest list does not send them anything. Guests reply themselves when you share your website address and an invitation code.
Open Guests in the menu.
Add people
Open Guest list. The page says you can plan who to invite and track their replies here.
- Choose Add guest.
- Enter First name and Last name. Both are required.
- Optionally add a Role, an Invitation type, and Notes.
- Choose Save. Discard drops a new person you haven't saved.
Use the filters Everyone, Awaiting reply, Attending and Not attending to narrow the list. They only change what you see.
Open a row to edit someone who has already replied. You can change Attending or Not attending, their name, email, Dietary requirements, role, invitation type and Tags. Private notes stay with you. Choose Save. Remove guest takes them off the list. A name you added yourself, before they have replied, uses Remove from list.
If someone can't reply online, open their row and choose Record their reply. Pick Coming or Can't make it, add an email if you have one, then Save reply. They appear on the list without a login of their own.
Register for them is for someone who isn't on the list yet and needs you to register them. You need an invitation code that still has space. If you don't, the link says Create a code before inviting.
Invitation codes
Open Invitation codes. A code is what guests type on your wedding website to prove they're invited, and to see the right parts of the day.
- Choose Add code, or the row Add a code.
- Code to share can be left blank. We'll fill one in. Guests aren't fussy about capital letters.
- Add a Label for your reference if you want one. Guests don't need the label.
- Choose Which events are included? so a full-day guest and an evening guest can have different codes.
- The box Let more than one registration use this code is ticked by default, so the code can be used up to 10 times. Change How many registrations can use this code? if you want a different number. Untick the box for a single-use code.
- Choose Create code. Copy code puts it on your clipboard.
The table shows how many uses are left. Reusable or Single use is in the Kind column, which stays hidden until you turn it on under Columns.
Send the code and your wedded.me address. Either one on its own is not enough. You can print the same reusable code on every invite for that part of the day. Each person who replies starts their own party and can add the people coming with them.
Save changes updates a code. Delete code removes it.
Tags
Open Tags. Tags are labels for you, such as family or the wedding party. Guests never see them.
Choose Add tag, give it a name and a colour, and save it. On an empty list, Add suggested tags creates a starter set you can rename or delete.
Assign a tag when you edit a guest. On the guest list you can also tick several people who have replied and choose Add tag…. Tags are useful when you email one group instead of everyone who is coming.
Invite your partner to help
This is not a guest. A co-organiser gets their own login and can manage the same wedding.
- Open Settings, then Wedding settings.
- Under Organiser team, find Invite someone.
- Enter their email and choose Send invite.
They get an email with a link. The link lasts 14 days. On that page they confirm their email, set a password if they need one, and accept. You'll see them as Co-organiser once they have. People waiting to accept are listed above the form.
You stay the Primary organiser. You can remove a co-organiser later from the same card.
What to do next
Collect replies, meal choices and accommodation once codes are going out. Publish the website first, or guests can't open the page the code belongs to.
